Recognizing the importance of students, the STUDENT AFFAIRS OFFICE is geared towards a more empowered studentry through different activities and undertakings that they themselves initiate, plan and carry out.
It is the primary frontline office of the university in its relations with the students. It oversees the implementation of policies, rules, and regulations that support the academic pursuits and total development of students.
This is a service office, in the sense that it serves and looks after the interests of students. SAO is the official communication link with the student body, administration, and general public in matters concerning student welfare and development, student activities, and student discipline.

Development of students to a well-rounded personality through value-formation programs and services that will maximize their potentials and enhance personality development.

Objectives
BISU Student Affairs and Services Programs are crafted to:
- raise a well-informed student-clientele;
- provide guidance and counseling services that shall help form the fullest potential of students and maintain the standard of the university through its admission and retention programs;
- ensure fitness of graduates to the jobs that they are designed to work in the society;
- instill the value of economic ventures and entrepreneurial spirit among students;
- revise existing handbook for development sake to suit the needs of the students;
- raise leaders who are incorruptible and equipped with leadership skills and sensitivity to social responsibility;
- inculcate the value of discipline among students;
- hone student writers to become a responsible journalist and enjoy the freedom of the press;
- make available to students services that are deemed needed for students holistic development such as scholarship and financial assistance, food services, and health services;
- ensure a safe and secured campus and student life; and
- enkindle the spirit of sportsmanship among students and cause a culture-appreciative BISUANS.
Student Welfare
Information and Orientation Services
This service encompasses all information which is made available through bulletins, announcements after flag rituals, brochures, electronic media, orientation activities and trainings. Student Affairs Office shall disseminate relevant information for the holistic development of the clients.
Guidance Services and Counseling Services
This service is concerned with providing individual and group counseling to students who seek assistance, the “referrals” who are being referred by administrators, family members, parents and teachers who are in need of assistance that could affect the student’s educational, emotional, spiritual and social well-being. It aims to help the individual to develop potentials and become aware of limitations which are vital in making decisions and right choices in life.
Career and Job Placement Services
This service looks after the placement of graduates after graduation through the conduct of Career Orientation, joining Jobs Fairs and Special Recruitment Activities. This maintains linkages with industries for OJT and employment purposes. While it seeks linkage for employment it takes care of the Job Preparation Trainings among graduating students.
Economic Enterprise Development
This service is designed to inculcate among students the beauty and essence of entrepreneurial activities. It encourages individuals and groups to conduct entrepreneurial endeavors through orientation programs and proposal making seminar.
Student Handbook Development
This student welfare service sees to it that stakeholders, namely: students, instructors, deans, administrators, parents and alumni are involved in the revisions of the student handbook.
Student Discipline
The institution should promulgate the judicious implementation of institutional rules and regulation governing student behavior.
School Publication
The institution should have a students’ official publication/organ/journal.
Multi-Faith Services
The institution should provide an environment conducive to free expression of one’s religious orientation in accordance with institutional principles & policies.
