About the Program

The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Technology is designed to prepare graduates for responsible technical positions in design, development, research, applications, and operation in the fields of residential, commercial and industrial wiring installations, alternating and direct current machine design,   electromechanical control system of AC-DC machines, control designs of electro pneumatic , programmable logic control system and applied industrial electronics. The curriculum is built around a strong basic core of mathematics, physics and other allied sciences.

 

This is followed by a one year on the job training program in a capstone design of the course. Laboratory facilities are available in the electrical workshop allowing for basic as well as more advanced laboratory instruction in residential, commercial and industrial wiring installations, alternating and direct current machine design, electromechanical control systems of AC-DC machines, control designs of electro pneumatic, programmable logic control system and applied industrial electronics control.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Technology may go into Electrical Power System Technician, Electrical Designer in Machine Automation and Process Control System, Illumination Designer, Entrepreneur, Sales Technician, Technology Educators and Researcher, Instrumentation and Control Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Electrical Design Inspector and may hold leadership, supervisory and executive positions in industrial, commercial establishments
